Lossing Weight in a Right Way

I used to be a chubby girl, i was 5’1″ tall and weighed 160 pounds when i was in University. I believe this would be my maximum weight in my life. I got my Bachelor’s degree from Taiwan, so thanks to all  delicious food in Taiwan and thus i became a chubby girl! I still did’t understand, i had the same food with my Taiwan friends. They wouldn’t get fat, but i did and that was so fast, i was from 110 to 15 something over six months.

I used to eat a lot, i had lots of snacks and drinks except three meals a day. I guessed this was the way why i would get fat so fast. I love shopping, specially clothing and handbags! Unfortunately, i couldn’t carry the Taiwanese clothing due to my fatty body. Most of their clothing are fit for the slender girls, but not for me. So, i decided to do lots of workouts in order to lose weight and tried to be on a diet. I did one to two workouts a day and did every day, i had salad instead of meats and ate carbohydrates less, like rice, wheat, etc. After a year, i lost my weight from 160 pounds to 95 pounds. To be honest, i was really slender but didn’t look healthy. My face was always pale and weak in health, always felt sick. I noticed that there was an alert in my body, and this condition would make my health being worse. After that, i began to eat healthy and balanced diet. Also, did appropriated exercise loads which were good for my health and kept my body shape look good at the same time.

And now, i still do workouts three to five times a week. But i won’t be on a diet again! It’s not a wise choice to lose your weight. For me, balanced diet and do appropriated exercises will be the best approach to lose weight. I strongly suggest that do not try to lose weight blindly, it is too dangerous for your health and this would be the worst far-reaching impact on your health.  There is more information about losing weight for your attention, just hit 15 Things Nobody Tells You About Losing Weight.

I would like to share with you what i am doing recently. I do this exercise three to five times a week and it works, the exercise helps me getting slimmer (some fat had disappeared,YAY!!).

Sorry about that there are only Korean, Japanese and Chinese subtitles, but not with English. But you can refer to their movements. All the movements may help!

Lavender Field

I am not living in downtown Toronto, but i always experience long commute to home or to my destination in Toronto. Traffic jam not only happened in Toronto, but many cities in the world. Even it will happen in a very small city, Macau. When i was free in the weekend, i would go out for a nice walk or go to another city to refresh my mind an get some relaxations.

I went to the place closed to Niagara-on-the-Lake yesterday, Neob Lavender. There was a wide lavender field and lavender boutique beside. After visited the field, took tons of pictures, had fun with your gangs, families. You just have a short walk to the boutique beside the field. There are many products which are made of lavender, like soap, shampoos, body washes, etc. They are all smelling good and lots of them are not artificial, they are organic and not bad for your body. Actually, i were not quite sure that was this the perfect season for lavender. After i posted the pictures on my Instagram and searched others related photos by hashtag, i found that the lavender in their pictures would be more purple than i saw yesterday. This is fine! i still enjoyed this short trip at there!

There was a  lavender festival, but it seems it had been over before i visited yesterday. Work shops, shows would be there during the festival. Unfortunately, i missed the event.

Go to the inner suburb or suburb occasionally and go get some relaxing activities with your beloved one or families, enjoy every single moment with them. This is absolute important to have this kind of moment in your everyday busy life. Work hard, play hard!

Green Tea with Honey

I drink so much in my daily life, especially the drink with sweet taste. Like fresh fruit juices, soft drinks or something. For sure, i also drink much water.

I always ordered a drink which is called green tea with honey when i was in Macau, and so charged me for around CAD$5 per one. I love this because it is a very healthy drink, both honey and green tea are benefit for people, especially for girl:)

Honey is good for people’s skins and intestines. If you have the problem of constipation, you may try to have a cup of honey with water in the morning(when you wake up and before breakfast). Believe me, you may solve the above problem. I tried and it really works! You can check more benefits of honey just hit HONEY.

Green Tea is also very good for people. I love the taste of green tea so much besides its benefits! I don’t know why green tea can almost be matched with everything. i mean drink ,food and dessert:) I can do green tea lemonade, green tea with honey, green tea ice cream or green tea cake,etc.

After seeing all the benefits of honey and green tea. I want to introduce you what i drink every day. That is green tea with honey, my favorite and healthy drink recently. People like using hot green tea to make a green tea with honey while i was searching on YouTube. But i am afraid that hot tea will destroy the nutrition of green tea, so i use a bottle of green tea. It is just the easiest way to do this drink. I just bought a bottle of green tea and honey from grocery and mix both of them at home, and so i can save CAD$5!!!!!

July1, 2017 is a big day for CANADA! It’s 150th anniversary of CANADA.
Happy Birthday, CANADA!

I was so glad to be here and join this great day in Toronto. I am not a Canadian, but i could feel the passions of them, how Canadians love Canada. There were lots of events, shows, and all kinds of celebrations in every nook and cranny. Although i wanted to join many celebrations during the Canada Day weekend, it was impossible to do this. So, i planned few of spots to visit! I love to watch firework so much, so i went to the CN Tower on July1 night. IT WAS AMAZING! I tried to go to the spot close to the CN Tower, but there were too much people. I just went to the place far away but still could see the CN Tower as a result. I was still excited for the fireworks show! Only one thing which is imperfect is that i could’t listen the music and watch the fireworks show at the same time. I searched on YouTube afterwards as my share on beneath.

I went to Nathan Phillips Square in the next day. Few stages with lots of shows(according to its schedule), there is a lot of people!!! I spent a couple of hours there, I was really really impressed by this awesome CANADA DAY.

I think i am in love with this lovely country.

Canada’s Wonderland-My Favorite Park Here

Canada’s Wonderland is really an awesome park for adults and kids, especially suit families to have fun there (I went there many times already).  I went there in 2014 and that was my very first time, i had so much fun there.

I decide to get a season pass this year, because i will stay in Toronto for more than one year, i only paid $69.99(plus taxes) and can have unlimited times to visit Canada’s Wonderland, that’s such a good deal! Note: $69.99 was the price last few month, i am checking the price on their website is $86.99 now! After purchased my season pass, i have been there for four times already! I love exciting rides, coasters and super like the splash works there(only open in summer). They add a new slide for the splash work this year. Unfortunately i didn’t try it yet, but i think i will try very soon!

Just one thing i am not comfortable with is the rental fee of the lockers, that is experience for me. I have to pay 16 buck for each time, actually this fee is for whole-day rental and with unlimited open times. For me, it is a little expensive if i have been there for few hours.

Nevertheless, i still highly recommend this place for all of you. If you want to have a sweating summer, DON’t MISS OUT! Or if you got something interesting there before, please leave your comment here!

Dendrobium Nobile Soup-Good for Your Health

Today, i would like to share one of my favorite soup here! A soup which is cooked with some traditional Chinese herbs. This called ” Dendrobium Nobile Soup”. Dendrobium Nobile is one of the famous herbs in China, and also it is a very important herbs for making soups or drinks, to make you healthier and look more beautiful. And even for Chinese medicine practitioners to consult with their patients, to heal their illness. I think from Western or Chinese medicine’s perspective, you must eat healthy and get the healthy body then.

Ingredients for this soup:

  1. Dendrobium Nobile     – 50g
  2. Yam                                 – 50g
  3. Chinese Wolfberries    – 10g
  4. Leab Pork (cut in pieces)  -300g

Put all the ingredients into a large pot, bring to a boil. Then cook with low heat for one and a half hour.

What’s the benefits of this soup?

If you are the one always go to bed late or your want your blood glucose get reduced. You may try this soup!

Fire Alarm in Our Building

There was a fire alarm in our building last few days. This is the second time i have encountered the fire alarm in my building. I was really scared when i encountered this kind of emergency situation, cause i am a chicken-hearted girl. I couldn’t handle the emergency issues well by myself.

After these two emergency experiences, i think it’s the time for me to face my weak points positively. I want to take this opportunity to praise the team of Toronto Fire Services here, they always reach to the incident sides in a very short limited of time. When the fire alarm was on in our building, it’s about three to five minutes for the team to come. And they noticed us what was happening, and what would they do, like told us just stayed in our own apartment and stayed calm. After settled the fire from one of the apartments, they noticed us that they were investigating what was the reason for the fire. I was comfortable due to their clear explanations and directions, step by step, and the fire team let us know we were safe as a result.

You may think: Hio, you are so weird. This is something normal, nothing special.

I want to share with you my fire alarm experience in Macau . Me and my family didn’t know anything-which apartment, why and how could we do? We just know that we had to leave our immediately. Fortunately, it was a false alarm, no one injured. Thanks God! Let me introduce a picture of hydrant on our Macau apartment floor on beneath.

I have researched some information about how to keep yourself safety when you encounter fire alarm. This is from Toronto Fire Service, SAFETY and FIRE PREVENTION.

Incidents may happen anytime at anywhere. Please take good care of yourself and treasure your every minutes in your beautiful life!

Steamed Losters

In addition to taking photos, i also like cooking.

Last few days, i went to the supermarket in downtown and saw the lobsters were on sale. My friends told me that the lobsters here are very fresh and delicious. The most important thing is that it is seasonal food for lobsters in every summer in Canada. So, i think i have to buy some and get to try how to cook.

Actually, i am not sure how to cook lobsters. I ate the lobster sashimi at a Japanese restaurant before, that was really fresh and delicious. Unfortunately, i have no idea how to handle this lobster as sashimi. So i decide to cook the lobsters with Chinese style- Steamed Lobsters. Steaming is a method of cooking, and also it is a very popular cooking method in my hometown.

Let me introduce how i handled these lobsters on the beneath steps:

  1. I prepared some garlic, green onions and gingers. Cut them into pieces.
  2. Cleaned the lobsters and cut one lobster into two pieces.
  3. Boiled the water.
  4. Put the prepared-ingredients on top of the lobsters.
  5. Put all the things on a plate and put them on top of the boiling water.
  6. Wait for around 15 minutes and then done!

Breakfast on Friday Morning

Hello, everyone! Five-days work have finished today. It’s Friday again!

My friend hung out with me to have a “Canadian breakfast” this morning. Actually, we were not sure should we call that Canadian breakfast, maybe western breakfast. Anyway, this breakfast is very different from my hometown breakfast.

This is what i ordered today.

Called “Energy Boom”.








What are included in my breakfast?  There are two sausages ,scrambled eggs,two pieces white bread and fries. I also ordered one orange juice because i think orange juice can refresh my mind in the morning. I were very full after finished this set of breakfast, i guess i am getting fat:) Although i am not sure whether some of you have this kind of breakfast in Canada. I saw many Canadian there, i think this must be something good in Toronto!

Let me introduce what is “Macanese style” breakfast to everyone here! When i am in Macau, i usually go to the restaurant which offer breakfast and lunch. They are always closed at around 17:00 to 18:00. They won’t serve dinner for their customers. There is a very interesting culture in Macau, many customers go to the same restaurant at the same time (like around 10:00) everyday. So, if you are one of them, you can see the same faces in the same restaurant everyday. Okay, get back to our topic, Macanese breakfast.



As you can see in above images, we will have one main course and one drink. And we call that “breakfast set” in Macau. You can see set A-F…in one menu. I often choose bun with egg and beef or with cheese and egg. Sometimes i choose noodle when i am very hungry.  You can check their names out on above images.

1st Anniversary in Canada

This is my very first blog here and thank you all of you to be here to see my words and share my happiness.

I know that it is very important to post interesting or special things here to attract more friends to follow my blog. So, in my first post, i want to share my special moments with all of you. Today, 1st anniversary. For what? i have been in Toronto for a year! I came to Toronto at 31st May,2015. I would like to take this great opportunity to share what have happened in this year as a summary for this wonderful year.

As you can see in the picture, this is me:) This was the moment before i got on the plane. Time flies, i can’t believe that a year has passed. In this year, i met many people, tasted lots of food, went many places in Canada. Most of all, i am learning English and taking courses for the Marketing certificate in University of Toronto. All these things together and make HIO be a better girl!
